    2. Normal Wear and Tear

  • How should I maintain a telescopic rod?

Rinse off dirt and sand, dry every section, and collapse it gently from the tip down. Keep the joints aligned and never twist sections under load. Store it with slack line, the lure off, the drag loosened, and the cap on. Grit in the joints is what makes telescopic sections stick, so cleanliness is the whole game.

  • What is the difference between a one-piece, two-piece, and telescopic rod?

A one-piece rod is a single blank: nothing to assemble, nothing to loosen. A two-piece rod splits at a joint (the ferrule) so it packs shorter. A telescopic rod collapses into itself, like our Pocket Combos that shrink from 30 inches down to 18. We sell all three, and the "pieces" line in the specs tells you which you're looking at. If a rod doesn't want to come apart or collapse, it wasn't built to. Don't force it.
