Who should choose a Big Fish combo?

Go BigFish when your target and your water outgrow an everyday combo. These two-piece, medium-heavy fiberglass rods come in 7- to 10-foot lengths, paired with a larger spinning reel and pre-spooled 15- to 20-pound line, depending on length. Beginners can absolutely run one; the extra length and weight are just easier to manage once basic casting and drag control feel automatic.
What line and fish are Big Fish combos designed for?

They ship with 15- to 20-pound line on a medium-heavy fiberglass blank rated for 12- to 30-pound line, which covers catfish, carp, stripers, and other freshwater heavyweights. The right target still depends on length, cover, hook, and leader, so lean on the printed line and lure ratings rather than the name on the rod.
Can I use my Profishiency combo in saltwater?

Our combos are built primarily for freshwater. Plenty of anglers fish them in salt, and the gear survives if you're disciplined: rinse the exterior gently with fresh water after every trip, dry it completely, and watch the guides, reel foot, and hardware for corrosion. Never dunk the reel.
